Join us few days before the shortest day of the year for Solstice Sanctuary, a special Slow Down Sunday experience that combines gentle Yin Yoga with the soothing power of deep relaxation with sound.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, fatigued, or simply in need of a deep pause, this session is your chance to unwind. Through slow, meditative Yin postures and calming sound immersion, we’ll create a peaceful space to help you release tension, reconnect with yourself, and find stillness before the holiday season.

Yin Yoga — Ease into long-held, supported postures that allow for deep release in the body, improved flexibility, and a sense of inner calm.

Deep Relaxation With Sound — Experience the harmonious vibrations of sound, guiding your mind into a meditative state, easing stress, and inviting tranquillity.

Organisers:

Barbara Sunchaser is a certified yoga and meditation teacher with over 5 years of experience and extensive training across various yoga styles. Based in Banbury, Oxfordshire, Barbara helps people manage stress and improve well-being through group classes, private 1:1 sessions, and online options. Her classes at London Yard Studio range from mobility and balance-focused sessions to her monthly ‘Slow Down Sunday’ for deep relaxation. With a welcoming approach, Barbara supports both beginners and experienced practitioners in finding balance and ease on the mat.

Jo Padmini Badger has a passion for sharing the healing therapies that she practices so that all can benefit from a natural, individual, holistic route to wellness. Jo is a qualified and insured Hatha Yoga and Meditation teacher, Children, Pregnancy and Post-Natal Yoga teacher and Deep Relaxation Yoga Nidra teacher. She has a wide experience of 27 years as a therapist, teaching adults, seniors, children, pre and post-natal, mother and baby/ toddler and teen yoga. Jo also practices Reflexology, Reiki, Feng Shui Consultancy, Sound Healing and is a Shamanic Practitioner.

The studio is located in the pedestrianised area of the town centre in London Yard which is just off Parson's Street, opposite the Old Auctioneer. There are car parks at each end of Parson's Street (in the Market Place and North Bar) as well as directly behind the Old Auctioneer and in Bolton Road (the former multi-storey, which is now a street-level car park only). From either of these two car parks, it's a short walk along the path next to the Auctioneer garden into Parson's Street. As you enter London Yard, look to your right and you'll see a large stone building with two garage doors on the ground floor - the entrance to the studio is the brown door just beyond the garage doors with a sign “Temple of Yoga”.

Autumn half day Retreat🍃

SHIFT - GROUND - PAUSE - NOURISH

During this half-day retreat we will shift any stagnant energy through Movement is Medicine® practice with Miranda Grace.

Then, we will ground ourselves on a slow walk in the nearby forest, connecting with the Autumn energies. We will finish with some cake, tea and a short talk about autumn herbs.

Then, guided by Barbara, we will focus on removing tension from our body and slowing down our mind with a restful Restorative and Yin Yoga session

These 4,5 hours will energise and nourish you for a new season ahead. Time amongst friendly humans in beautiful surroundings, but more importantly

TIME FOR YOU.

You don’t need to have any previous yoga, meditation or dance experience. Practices will be really beginner friendly. There will be an option to rest at the Studio if walking for 1h is not accessible for you. Cake and tea selection will accommodate any dietary requirements.

Movement is Medicine® is a movement and dance therapy combining neuroscience, ancient wisdom and rave culture. In the first part of the session, we use EFT, self-massage, and breath work to develop a positive relationship with your body, become more present and relax your nervous system. Then we get up and shake it off! Shaking, or trauma release exercises, is what animals do in the wild to release stress. Humans can access this too as an effortless and fun way to feel healthier.

The dance part is not choreographed. The purpose of this method is to create feeling; allowing you to move and dance in a free flow state that feels good, just like you would at a party! You’ll keep your eyes closed as much as possible throughout your go within: It’s not about how you look, it’s about how you feel.

Yin Yoga is mostly floor based practice where postures are held for a few minutes. This length of time is used to open into the thicker layers of connective tissues that a moving, dynamic practice may not as effectively access.

The stillness of the practice provides fertile ground for introspection, self-reflection, and embracing the present moment. It becomes a sanctuary where you can gently release the burdens of daily life, finding solace and clarity within.

Practice will be beginners friendly.

Bolsters, blocks and blankets will be provided. Please wear some warm and comfy clothes, we won't be moving much on the mat.

I’m a qualified movement is medicine teacher, embodiment facilitator, coercive control recovery mentor and bodyworker. I offer sessions online and in person in Oxfordshire, in English or Spanish. I teach my clients body positivity, confidence and self-expression. I have been training and working in this field for 7 years and I want to use my experience, understanding and tools to support others on their journey.

I’m a qualified yoga, meditation and relaxation teacher. Since 2019 I I offer classes either in English or Polish in the Oxfordshire area and online. I share the practice of yoga with my students in group classes, at schools, in workplaces and private sessions. I am passionate about making yoga more inclusive and accessible. I want all of my clients to live a more fulfilling life with less physical and mental discomfort. I'm more interested in reducing stress than doing fancy yoga poses.

The studio is situated within the beautiful courtyard of The Old Farmyard at Forceleap Farm, part of the Newbottle Estate, which is about halfway between Brackley and Banbury. The studio is surrounded by beautiful Northamptonshire countryside, providing the perfect tranquil location. There is on-site free car parking (with electric car charging points) and under-floor heating to keep you warm and cosy! This sounds like a perfect conditions for you to switch off from hustle of the everyday life, isn't it?
